Accounts and Office Manager

Accounts and Office Manager

Full-time | Fortitude Valley | Be the person who keeps our business running.

This is more than an accounts role.

It’s a role for someone who takes pride in creating order, solving problems before they become problems, and making everyone around them more successful.

You’ll be just as comfortable reconciling accounts as you are organising the office, supporting your teammates, and rolling up your sleeves to help at an event when needed.

If you’re someone who notices the little things, enjoys helping others, and gets genuine satisfaction from keeping a busy business running smoothly, we’d love to hear from you.

About Us

Goodwill Projects is one of Australia’s largest and most awarded market, venue and event operators. Winners of the 2023 Telstra Best of Business Award – Building Communities and the 2024 Australian Small Business Champion Awards, we have been delivering vibrant, community-focused experiences since 2006.

With a portfolio of 12 high-profile markets, Eat Street Northshore and over 100,000 weekly attendees, we create meaningful spaces where small businesses thrive and communities connect.

We’re recognised for creating places people love to visit, experiences people remember, and a workplace where passionate people can build rewarding careers while making a genuine impact.

About the Role

This is the operational backbone of our head office.

You’ll support the day-to-day financial administration of the business while helping keep our office running efficiently and creating an environment where the rest of the team can do their best work.

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer and General Manager, you’ll be at the heart of our head office operations. From accounts and payroll to office management and business support, you’ll help create the strong foundations that allow our teams to deliver exceptional markets, events and venues across South East Queensland.

No two weeks look exactly the same. We’re looking for someone who enjoys variety, takes ownership and genuinely likes helping people.

About You

You’re someone who naturally creates order.

You enjoy being organised, take pride in getting the details right, and don’t wait to be asked before jumping in to help.

You have experience working in accounts administration or office management and understand the importance of accuracy, confidentiality and meeting deadlines.

You’re approachable, professional and dependable. People trust you because you follow through on what you say you’ll do.

You enjoy working as part of a team and understand that great workplaces are built by people who support one another.

You don’t believe in “that’s not my job.” If something needs doing, you’re happy to roll up your sleeves and get involved.

Most importantly, you’re looking for somewhere to build a long-term career, contribute to a positive culture and be part of a business that’s continuing to grow.

What You’ll Do

Own the day-to-day accounts function
Manage accounts payable and receivable, reconciliations, payroll and general financial administration with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

Support the Financial Controller
Assist with cash flow reporting, budgeting, month-end processes, reporting and financial administration.

Keep the office running smoothly
Coordinate office supplies, facilities, contractors, IT support and the countless little things that create an organised and productive workplace.

Manage key relationships
Build positive relationships with staff, suppliers, contractors, tenants and external stakeholders through professional and timely communication.

Maintain systems and processes
Continually look for opportunities to improve efficiency, organisation and the way we work.

Be part of the bigger picture
From helping prepare for team events to supporting business initiatives, you’ll play an important role in the day-to-day life of Goodwill Projects.

Skills & Experience

We’re more interested in finding the right person than ticking every box, but ideally you’ll bring:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in an Accounts Administration, Office Manager or similar role.
  • Strong experience with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and reconciliations.
  • Payroll experience (MYOB experience is highly regarded).
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong computer skills, particularly Excel and Microsoft Office.
  • The ability to manage competing priorities while remaining calm and organised.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • A proactive mindset with a genuine willingness to help wherever needed.
  • Experience in commercial property administration is advantageous but not essential.

Why This Role

This is a role where you’ll become genuinely important to the business.

You’ll work closely with senior leaders, have variety in your week, and play a key part in supporting a business that continues to grow.

You’ll be trusted with responsibility, encouraged to improve systems, and given the opportunity to build a long-term career with a company that values loyalty, initiative and people who consistently deliver.

Why Join Goodwill Projects

We’re not your typical office.

Every week, our team helps deliver some of South East Queensland’s most loved markets, events and destinations. It’s a fast-paced, collaborative environment where every person plays an important role in bringing great experiences to life.

We’re passionate about developing good people. If you bring initiative, integrity and a strong work ethic, you’ll be trusted with responsibility, encouraged to contribute ideas and given opportunities to grow as the business continues to evolve.

If you’re looking for more than just your next job and want to build a meaningful career with a business that’s ambitious, supportive and genuinely values its people, we’d love to hear from you.
