Assistant Bar Manager at Eat Street Northshore
About Us
We’re Southeast Queensland’s go-to for awesome markets, events, and lively spaces.
Since 2006, we’ve transformed into one of the state’s leading farmers market and event coordinators. Overseeing 12 highly popular market locations alongside other major standalone events and the iconic Eat Street Northshore. We’re award-winning (think Telstra Business and Australian Small Business Awards) and incredibly passionate about creating experiences and places people want to be in!
THE ROLE
Think of this as managing a mini hospitality precinct every weekend—minus the walls and ceilings.
You’ll be working alongside our Bar Manager to run the show across our licenced spaces (that’s a whopping 10,000m²), making sure every sip, pour and event hits a premium level of excellence. This is a hands-on, sleeves-up kind of role. You’ll be leading from the front—motivating the team, jumping behind the bar when needed, managing staff rostering, controlling costs, and making sure operations run like clockwork.
If you love hospitality, high-energy weekends, and the challenge of managing a large-scale venue with personality and flair—this one’s for you.
WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR
You’re organised, proactive, and a great communicator. You’ve got a sharp eye for detail, a calm head under pressure, and can make smart decisions on the fly. You’ve probably been behind the bar or in a supervisory role before—and you know how to lead a team with heart and humour.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
-
Helping run five themed bars and two function spaces—on time and on point
-
Bringing fresh, creative ideas to life—from drink promos to pop-up bar events
-
Leading and supporting our weekend team with energy and confidence
-
Managing rosters, staff performance, and supplier relationships
-
Keeping a close eye on labour costs and stock control
-
Maintaining compliance with liquor licensing, safety, and hygiene standards
-
Ensuring our customers walk away raving about their experience
-
Working event days (Friday/Saturday 4pm–10pm, Sundays 4pm–9pm) and special functions
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
-
Current Liquor Approved Manager’s Licence (OLGR)
-
At least 12 months in a similar supervisory or assistant bar manager role
-
Strong hospitality knowledge (drinks, service, events)
-
Understanding of cost control and venue operations
-
Experience managing a team in a fast-paced environment
-
Ability to problem-solve with confidence and good humour
-
Must be an Australian resident
