Markets and Events Coordinator – Gold Coast

About Us:

Goodwill Projects is one of Australia’s largest and most awarded market, venue and event operators. Winners of the 2023 Telstra Best of Business Award – Building Communities and the 2024 Australian Small Business Champion Awards, we have been delivering vibrant, community-focused experiences since 2006.

With a portfolio of 12 high-profile markets, iconic Eat Street Northshore and over 100,000 weekly attendees, we create meaningful spaces where small business thrives, and communities connect.

Our team of 45+ work across markets, events, and venue activations, including major lifestyle precincts and seasonal events. We are proudly independent and growing, with a strong reputation for professionalism, creativity and operational excellence.

About the Role:

The Market and Events Coordinator provides invaluable assistance to the Market Manager in running a regular pop-up market three times per week. Setting up a market is like creating a ‘temporary’ shopping centre each week, just without a roof or four walls. We connect the power, set up the seating and decorations, prepare the bathrooms, parking areas, and general presentation.

Why You’ll Want to Join Us

  • No Two Days the Same – Enjoy a hands-on role where every shift brings something new — from vendor coordination to live problem solving.
  • Supportive, Down-to-Earth Team – Work alongside passionate, hard-working people who back each other and celebrate the wins together.
  • Be Part of Something Bigger – Contribute to one of Queensland’s leading market networks, with opportunities to grow your skills and career across events, placemaking and community engagement.

How you’ll make an impact:

The Coordinator must be extremely organised as they oversee the set up, operation and pack down of the market three days per week, ensuring they adhere to operational requirements, and keeping patron safety and comfort at the forefront of everything they do. The role assists the Manager in customer and stallholder management, communications, and executing administrative tasks for the market, as well as looking after vendor enquiries, and arranging stall placements each week.

Building the presence of the market through social media and promotional tasks forms part of this role. In addition to daily and weekly promotional tasks, the Coordinator has the ability to understand and communicate to their customers while fostering our brand persona via social media channels. Our brand voice can be edgy, creative, satirical, humorous, or informative, but always bright, warm, and welcoming.

This position is NOT Mon – Fri, 9-5 in the office.

In this role, you will:

  • Be hands on at their market three days per week, located on the Gold Coast

  • Brings confidence, honesty, and common sense, with a calm and positive presence when things get busy.
  • Is highly organised, detail-oriented, and quick to take action — problem-solving is a huge part of this role.
  • Can juggle stallholder requests, resolve on-the-spot issues, and adapt quickly to changing circumstances.
  • Is confident in customer service, and also comfortable managing emails, phone calls, and allocations during the week.
  • Doesn’t mind a bit of physical work and thrives in an ever-changing environment where no two days are the same.
  • Appreciates a vibrant lifestyle and probably already has a few favourite local markets of their own.
