About the role:

We’re looking for a highly capable Bookkeeper to manage the day-to-day financial operations of Eat Street Northshore – a fast-paced, high-volume business with multiple revenue streams, contractors, and award structures.

This role will appeal to a well versed and experienced Bookkeeper/Accountant (minimum 5 years in a busy or similar role) who is looking to further their career in a well-established and rapidly growing business.

The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining financial stability and supporting decision-making by providing accurate financial data to management.

You will work closely with the Group CFO, Eat Stret Operations Manager and Group General Manager.

The role offers flexible working arrangements, with a requirement to work on-site one day per week. This will alternate between Head Office in Fortitude Valley and Eat Street Northshore in Hamilton for payroll processing. These will be set, permanent on-site working days.

What you’ll be doing:

  • General Accounting: Manage day-to-day financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll processing (two Awards).
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including balance sheets, profit and loss statements and cash flow forecasts.
  • Bank Reconciliation: Perform regular reconciliation of company bank accounts and credit cards.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and organized financial records, ensuring they are compliant with industry standards and regulations.
  • Tax Compliance: Assist with preparation of BAS (Business Activity Statements) and other tax-related filings. Ensure compliance with Australian taxation laws.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Collaborate with senior management to prepare annual budgets and financial forecasts.
  • Financial Advice: Provide financial insights to management to help with business decisions, cost control, and profitability.
  • Payroll using MYOB & Deputy: Including application across multiple awards. Understand and apply award conditions to support the business’s HR needs.
  • Cash Handling: Secure and bank cash as required.
  • Rent roll / tenant administration.
  • Ad Hoc Financial Tasks: Support audits, reporting, project-based financial analysis, and other office duties as directed by senior management.
  • Oversee the collection and distribution of incoming and outgoing mail.
  • Contribute to broader office projects and process improvements as directed by senior management.

What we are looking for:

  • Minimum 5+ years’ experience in a bookkeeping or accounting role
  • Proven experience as a bookkeeper or in a similar financial role.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in MYOB.
  • Understanding of POS [Point of Sale] & Event Management [Roller] systems
  • Experience with payroll across multiple awards
  • Ability to work independently and handle confidential information
  • Calm, reliable, and able to manage a steady flow of work without supervision
